My name is Zoey Johnson and I’m currently a high school student enrolled at Georgia Cyber Academy. As a woman of color, my heart shatters every single time one of my uncles, aunties, cousins, and black brothers and sisters who have experienced some type of discrimination over something that they aren’t able to change. The workplace is a place that we go to in order to earn money so that there is even food on the table or even so that there’s a table to eat on.
Earning the money is hard enough, but dealing with racial, sexual, and utter discrimination is completely unacceptable. My motivation for creating this campaign is so that we, people of color and women, can raise a generation that wouldn’t have to deal with the same things that our broken world had to deal with. Yes, this world is broken, but, we can fix it--one part being mended at a time.
Broken glass can never be the same when you put it back together. However, it can be put together. My goal is to pick up those glass pieces and to get help picking up the glass particles in order for us all to team up together to fix the bigger picture.
